Elimination Diet day 6
29.09.08Despite the headaches and the unplugging of the coffee machine in my house, the Elimination diet has been pretty easy so far.
Some of my habits for meals were pretty good, or should I say Elimination diet friendly…
Here is a run down of the things i consumed yesterday:
Breakfast: 3 egg omelete with just one yoke, with onions, peppers, mushrooms and some ham
Snack: smoothie with banana, red berries, natural yoghurt and cranberry juice. (this was after my Mountain bike ride)
Lunch: home made vegetable soup and corn on the cob.
Snack: dried grapefuit pieces, no coating or preserving agents
Dinner: Chicken, lightly sauteed potatoes, broccoli and carrots
About 3 liters of water throughout the day.
The biggest changes are really the complete absence of bread and coffee. How much of a difference does this make?
Well since my return from the US last week I have drop 1.5kg already…
Nutritional Tip Good Fats
27.09.08 Good Fats
by Dr. John Berardi On average, most people should ensure that 25-35% of their energy intake comes from fat, with your fat intake split equally between saturates (animal fat), monounsaturates (olive oil, avocados, etc), and polyunsaturates (flax oil, salmon oil, etc.). Your total fat in the diet may vary but make sure you’re getting about 1/3 of each type for the best fat balance.

So I think We have all been there…It’s that time of the Year when all your clothes are suddenly to Tight and You wonder how the heck that happened. And in true fashion the first thing You would do is cutting down on the food or start mad hard training or even worse both at the same time….If You have any of those thoughts in you head then STOP right there…Think about it for a second. When you go on a diet you are acctually breaking down body tissues. You want to loose bodyfat but what happens in a diet is your loosing water and even muscles. Yeah, you might loose a few kilos but is it the right kilos???? On a diet you won’t get a toned body and You won’t feel very well either and worse of all when you start eating normally again, you will put everyhting right back on and often alot more.
Second scenario is You are training very hard and then start cutting down on the food because You feel nothing is happening….Why oh Why..?
A very hard training-body doesn’t Want to loose any fat and will do anything to keep it. So in order to loose BODYFAT you WANT to get the Metabolism-Fire burning to the Max. This is how to do that:
First of all, If you are trainig very hard and you don’t loose any BODYFAT, it’s most likely that you acctually don’t eat enough or secondly you don’t train in the most Effective way.
You HAVE to EAT to be able to BURN!!!!! Eat EVERY 2-3 hours to keep that fire burning inside you.It goes without saying that obviously it has to be the right things you eat: Keep it Clean and Natural and don’t make it hard on yourself. Stay away from alcohole and Refined Sugars, They will SLOW DOWN the metabolism!
Training Wise…for Fatburning, STOP those hour long cardio w/o and stay away from the aerobics classes. Start building MUSCLES! Without Muscle mass You will NOT BURN! You don’t have to go mad now and start building like Arnold Scwarzenegger…Bodyweight Resistance training is enough but don’t be afriad to use DumbBells. For a woman to get Huge with Muscles, it is near enough Impossible. That will take hours in the Gym with HardCore Wieght training for a very long period of time, so don’t be afraid to Push Yourself out of Your Comfort Zone, because that’s when things starts to heat up in your body.
Add on some SHORT but SHARP Intervalls into the schedule and Your Metabolism will really Kick Off .
Seems like alot of work??? Acctually, All You need is 3/Week Resistance Training a 45min and 2-3/Weeks Intervalls a 20-25min and together with EATING regulary the BodyFat will start to Melt off in the Fire of a Great Metabolism!

One of the GetFit Fundamentals is the Goal Achievement Strategy. It is a workbook and an on going strategy to go about setting and achieving some of your biggest wildest dreams. Each of my intern coaches must go through the workbook as part of their induction… Here is an account of one of their experiences with it…
“It was about three weeks ago that I completed the Goal achievement strategy, and i have to say I did not find it easy……so why did I find it soo difficult and was it worth it??
When I first read it I almost panicked and felt scared….
I had not asked myself these questions since probably when I was in school talking to somebody like the careers people and even that was not as in-depth as this. It took me a while to digest it and to get on bored with this line of thinking…….why??? well I think that I had fallen into the trap(unknowingly) that allot of women do when they have children
For the last 3 years I have been a housewife looking after my very energetic 3 year old and without really realizing it I fell into the trap of coming last, your child partner house stuff and everything else that is entailed with becoming a mother be it working or not always comes first. There is so much to think about and do that on top of that you never get round to or do very little for yourself.
So I slowly plucked up the courage to write down what I really want and what I want to achieve, even writing that with the words “I” in feels good. It was hard going doing it but it felt like a relief when i had written it all down , it wasn’t to be scared of anymore it was to be broken down into little steps that would get me to achieving my Goal.
So how am I doing 3 and bit weeks down the road?? Well I have taken some small steps towards my goal so, I’m on the right path. I had a very hectic and stress full week this week so when it came to writing about my experience of the goal achievement strategy so far I re-read it, which I am so glad I did!! it put things back into perspective and made me realize what I’m working for and towards, which of course in a way you could say is the moral of the story!!
The whole point is to be active on my goal. It can be so easy to let real life get in the way sometimes, you need to read your goals again and again, and do something about them.
In answer to my question above is it worth it???, Yes it is, I’m enjoying the journey so far and very much looking forward to achieving my goal, so far so good!!!”
So far so good… well kind of… One of My Magic Hundred was to follow the elimination diet…
I am 2 days in to Dax Moy’s Elimination Diet… basically you are only allowed to eat things like fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat/fish/poultry, some basic dairy produce and drink only water.
The hardest part for me so far is the coffee bit… having spent a week in the US trying to stay awake in a different time zone whilst listening to lectures has required plenty of coffee, so going cold turkey on the caffeine has produced some monster headaches.
The other hard part is cutting out the bread… I admit it is my one major weakness.
I did ForestFit this morning and suffered big time… too much rubbish this last few weeks has taken its toll.
Despite sounding like it is awfully hard to do, having done this before I know the results it can produce. Last time I cut bread for a month I lost 5kg of pure body fat! So it really can make a difference.

My Magic Hundred
23.09.0899 days left of 2008. I have spent most of the last 24 hours stuck on a transatlantic flight after fulfilling one of my previous Magic Hundred goals to attend a major Fitness professional Seminar in the US to meet with many of my peers in the fitness profession.
Whilst on the flight, I dug out my notepad and started brainstorming some of the various goals I have in mind for my Next Magic Hundred. Here is a sample:
- Be a speaker at the next major fitness professional seminar I attend.
- Train 80 times in the next 100 days
- Shoot (archery) 50 times in the next 100 days
- Set my Archery Schedule for 2009, including one major international event to focus on.
- Get 5 skiing lessons in before christmas
- Cut bread, alcohol and coffee from my diet for the next 30 days… see Elimination Diet.
You see the goals are a mix of big goals and little goals, some easy and some require a little more work. With My Magic Hundred, you can easily set in motion some substantial changes in your life with lots of small goals as well as the monster ones that make you get all shaking with excitement about.
If you don’t have Dax’s Magic Hundred pop over to http://www.MyMagicHundred.com to get your program started today.
WiiFit - Workout on a white box
23.09.08Ever thought that WiiFit might be a good idea… Jess has one of these and she is going to do some tests and videos for this… should be good for a laugh.

Kick Start Your Magic Hundred
20.09.08With many of you taking up the opportunity to get Dax’s Magic Hundred program this last week, for the remaining 100 days of 2008, I thought I’d let you know about some of the things that I am intending on doing, starting this Monday.
I am going to start this Monday with the Elimination Diet, also a Dax creation, but a nutritional program that is NOT a fat loss diet (although it does commonly give this result). The intention is to get cleansed of all the lovely toxins that I have consumed, especially over this last week being stuck in the US. Dax also has an Cookbook which helps you get more from the Elimination Diet, which I’ll be reviewing in a few weeks time.
I also have a number of business goals that I have on my goal cards in my wallet that need an injection of pace, so these are being added to the list of 100 goals for the next 100 days including bring on my team of new coaches which are ready for new clients this autumn. If now is your time to start learning about the GetFit Fundamentals and how it can make changes to your body for the rest of your life then get across to www.getfit.lu/consultation.html to arrange a FREE consultation with us.
Finally one of the other things I really want to achieve is getting all my current clients to have achieved their own health and fitness goals in time for Christmas, ie, BEFORE the January mayhem in the gym! Hey guys watch out I’m gonna put a rocket under you the next few weeks.
Tell me what things you are doing by adding a comment to this post, the most inspirational from Luxembourg will get a free place on one of our ForestFit groups.
If you’ve not got the Magic Hundred program go get it right away from Dax’s Magic Hundred Site
